Wet Okole Neoprene Seat Covers

This in another thread and I have been thinking others may be interested in seat covers and may have missed my postings. Anyway, for those considering seat covers do consider Okoles..

Well, I ordered the OKOLE neoprene seat covers direct from OKOLE. http://www.wetokole.com. They are custom made to fit my '03 L which has the 60/40 seat with armrest. I got light gray with black sides. Got the Lightning logo in black. Total shipped was about $300+- to include shipping. By the way, for those in the military, Okole will give you a 10% discount but they do have you fax them a copy of your current military ID. As for the seat covers I have heard they fit great and hold up/wear well. My sons and I do alot of ATV riding in the Summer so I decided seat covers were a good idea. $300+- is not a bad investment / insurance. I found the sales guy "Sergio" to be pleasant and helpful. He does not work on commission so he offers no pressure to buy and takes his time figuring out waht is best for you. As for the L, he can fit new and older versions, just be sure to be very clear your year and seat configuration as well as colors you want.. I will post here in a couple of weeks about how I like or dislike the covers. My guess is I will like. Oh, they said the install of the seat covers can be done without removal of the seats.

After there arrival:
Well, my Wet OKole Seat Covers arrived today 10 days after ordering them. Product was nicely packed and there were instruction sheets regarding install, maintenance, etc.. It took an hour to install them. No seat removal or special tools necessary. Only mishap I had was a nice cut on my finger (no sutures necessary) while installing the first cover. Damn metal slides under seat are very sharp. (A tip I found after the cut is to wear a pair of surgical gloves -latex gloves- during the install as your hands slip over the neoprene easily when tucking them in, etc.) Anyway, an hour and yes I broke a sweat getting them on. Trying to squeeze big hands under seats to fasten the tie down straps was the hardest part. The Okoles fit like a glove, a perfectly fitting glove. Look great, feel terrific and so much protection for the stock seats. The Okoles look like they were/are factory seat coverings. When you get an aftermarket product like this you don't feel so bad dropping the bucks. I can't say I found a single problem, something I did not like about the covers. Now, time will tell how much I like the covers on the long haul so to speak. Oh, I got the black outer with the gray inner panels and the "Lightning" graphic. The complete 60/40 seat is covered as well as the stock center console. YES, you can still open and close the console as the console cover is a two piece deal and the console cover release is accessible and again consoles can open and close as it did uncovered. As for smell........ yup, they smell like neoprene and it is not at all a bad smell though different then the factory new smell. Have had a few people see and sit on them and ALL comments were very positive.

Nice write up. I have them and I love them. The only complaint I have is that my body was riding with me and he had spackle on his arm and got it all over the armrest. It wouldnt come fully out so I colored it with a black magic marker and you cant really notice it now.

I'm suprised it did not come out. My guess is if you had caught/noticed the spackle on there when it was wet that you could have gotten it off. Glad you got it covered aok. Hmmmmm, cut on my finger from Okole seat cover install is just now completely healed. ho, ho, ho.....

I am totally onboard with these

seat covers. I have them and my wife helped me install them since she has much smaller hands than I.. took a little over an hour.. have had them about a year now and they look great!!. I always get comments about them (positive) they seem to be wearing well and the neoprene smell goes away.. although the scuba diver friends like the smell... great for me because my little dog rides the console/armrest in his copilot position... he he

havent taken them off to look at the seat underneath to see how much protection on wear they are really providing.. but they arent hot and they arent cold.. so I likey a lot.

I've thought about getting these covers (obvioulsy I have bigger problems right now) but they look like they would be hot....stick to you on hot days. Let me know after you have lived with them for a while.

They are neither of those things.

covers

good product. Got them for christmas by request from my girlfriend.

Fit funky at first but settle down. I pulled the trim pieces off and tucked them under for cleaner look. Center console cover fits like crap an pulls back and forth when you lift it up. My truck smelt like spagetti for 3 months after they were put on.

The cleaner and protectant froze when they were shipped to me, which is a no no according to the label. Still waiting for replacements from them I'd like to see the price drop about 50 bucks to be more reasonable, but other then that i'm happy with them. They don't get hot with the sun beating on them either.

I get zero as in no movement when I open the console cover. Also, I tucked mine in but did not remove any "trim pieces" as you call them.
Hmmmmm, I should have gotten some gal to buy mine... what was I thinkin.(or not thinkin) Anyway, I think the price (Just under $300) is reasonable taking all into consideration. Spaghetti smell....... your nose needs adjustment. Hey what does pu__y smell like to you, lasagna?

Forgot to mention, directions tell you to tuck in, etc. if I remember correctly. Any of you Military ask for the 10% discount.

Thumbs up

Good writeup Bill.

I've had a set of Okoles for almost three years (learned about them here) and am very satisfied with them overall. The "Lightning' Logo on the seat back is showing a little sign of wear but that is to be expected since it is driven daily in the warmer months.

Good product, highly recommended, and would buy again.

No need to go flushing this thread down the toilet now

Seriously i took the cover off my truck this winter and put them on, closed the truck up and covered it, when i took it out in the spring, the ****** thing smelled like when you cook sauce (sorry, i make my own sauce, don't buy that junk in jars).

It took 3 cans of ozium and numberous strawberry air fresheners to get rid of it.

I've had mine for a year and a half now and would buy them again tomorrow. My next vehicle will have them, too. Unless I go leather.

Look how Odin's Wrath has his console cover installed. I see now we have the same Okole console cover but we may be installing them differently. (yes, I realize the passenger side of the console has the gray side piece showing.. we all do.) My console cover is on like Odin's Wrath has his on. Never slips and the console lid bracket is exposed and latchs easily.
