Went to the track the other night

Just thought I'd share my times n' stuff from the track the other night. I went out with my 20's with the Kumho Ecstas on just to see how they performed at the track. Sac raceway was pretty quiet, probobly about 15 cars tops so I got a lot of runs in. Most of them were experimenting with launch techniques, and practicing, once I got it down (by about 9 o'clock ) I ran consistent 13.1 runs with 1.9 60ft times. I was pleased that the Kumho's hooked that well, best I could muster before out of my F1's was a 2.1 60ft, so I know the tires helped improve my launch. Now I know for sure I can hit the high 12's next time I go out. The tune on my chip is a winter program and VERY safe, so I know there is still tons of room for power, plus I have the Nitto 555R DR's sitting in my garage, and I'm hoping next time out I'll stick those on the back and rip off some 1.7 60ft times or so, hopefully that'lll get me into the 12.9-12.8 range. I honestly think I could have run a 13.0 but my reaction times were sucking hard. One other thing to note was that by switching to 20's, though my traction improved, my MPH went down approx. 2-3 MPH. (which I was expecting) Some of the other cars out there: 2001 Audi S4, nice looking car had a sweet body kit on it, and a chip and exhaust the guy said; he was running consistent 13.5's all night (that AWD is impressive!) Couple Honda's running 16's and higher Silly ricers! One car that I was EXTREMELY suprised by however was the almost brand new 2003 C5 that was out there with it's only mod being a ram air kit (at least that's what the owner said) he was either a great driver or he was lying about the mods because he was ticking off some incredible times. Consistent 12.7's all night, and even managed a 12.6. I'd never seen a stock C5 do that, most of the ones I'd watch would tick off 13.3's and 13.2's. Go figure. Anyway, i hope to get my chip reburned and strap the Nitto's on and break into the 12's in the next few weeks!

Just a little FYI. Reaction times have nothing to due with ET or MPH. You have to worry about yoru 60FT times. 1.9 is not horrible for being on 20's. What mods do you have>??? -Mat-

very true, I have had some killer reaction times before, but if you burn out to much it doesnt do you any good. I think it much easier to get a bad launch if you are too edgy and worried about you reaction time, you tend to mash the pedal more that way IMO.
