Webmaster please read...

I recieved a response to my classified add listing my truck for sale this morning.
It came from someone who failed to list their name or any personal information except an e-mail address which is sunny007ng@yahoo.com.
They claim that someone in this area owes them money and he wants to use it to purchase my vehicle if I will give him my address, bank account number, pictures of the vehicle, and etc.
His friend that owes him the money will then wire the money for the purchase to my bank account, and I am then to return the excess funds to his shipper via money order.
Do I need to continue? Do you smell the rat here? I was born at night, but it wasn't last night......
Any way to prevent this sort of thing from happening here?

McScaminator, the Scamination Scamnifying, imagine the scamifications

That's a current scam run now... they'll wire you money, you wire the excess back to another person, then you find out the first wire was unauthorized, so it's repealed, then you're out that "excess" amount.

I say we all spam the ***** out of that address.

Definately don't do it dude, it's a total scam. Also report that email address to yahoo and include the message that was linking in thread above so they can take appropriate action.

While there is really no way to prevent someone from trying scam someone else, educating your fellow members is the best way to prevent someone from actually getting scammed. We do actual warn people about this particular scam on the classified reply form, so this is not a new one. Bottom line, buyer beware. And thanks for posting this.
