How May Ford Employee Warranty Denials ?

Just out of curiosity how many know of Ford with holding warranty work from
Company Employee claims?

Also how many Ford Dealership Employee denials can you recall?

Ford cancelled my powertrain warrenty while I was a dealer tech on my 99. The original motor had the piston slap, so I changed it at 2200 miles, then 3000 miles later, the second motor developed a wrist pin wrap on decel, and when we went to put a third motor in it, Ford cancelled my warrenty. According to them, this was due to my status of being a well known aftermarket Lightning parts designer. I later found out from someone inside Ford, that it was because the plant manager had a bug up his butt for me because he claimed I was telling people how to beat thier warrenty online (I have never done that). My intercooler had been leaking for 3 months with the replacement on backorder, and when it finally failed, it sent about a gallon of coolant throughout the entire motor. We used that leverage to force them to re-enstate my warrenty based on catastrophic motor failure due to massive amounts of coolant in the motor, so they no longer could stand behind thier lame excuse that my "parts" caused the failure.

That's very interesting, Sal. I have never thought of that line of thinking before. Also, was the warranty denied by the engine plant? I mention that because most people don't realize that the plant can deny a warranty claim to the dealer, and then I guess it's up to the dealer to go after the customer if they so choose, it's pretty rare but it can happen. I've heard that they do (and know that they can) do a test on pistons that can detect NO2 and that's an automatic denial, there are a few other things where I'm told the warranty analyst has no discretion, just check the box and no warranty.
I've never had any grief from Uncle Henry about what I'm doing, but now I have to wonder if maybe someday I will. I'm lucky in that the only thing I've changed in mine is the tranny and if they void that, well, I got it covered. I haven't had a stock tranny anyway since it had 500 miles on it.

WTF! I've seen a couple leaking intercoolers and there's NO way that the tiny cracks they develop could dump a gallon of coolant into the motor like that.

Tiny cracks lead to more tiny cracks that lead to bigger pieces breaking off. Under pressure I could easily believe it would send a gallon of coolant into the motor.

My '99 did the same thing - only it happened 3 times! On the first failure, I kept adding coolant . The second and thrid failures used up all the fluid. Surprisingly, the motor kept going, and worked fine.

The leaks occurred where the tube were soldered to the end tanks. First they get hairline cracks at the joint, then they can get worse from there. If they get real bad, it doesn't take long for that intercooler pump to pump it all into the motor. I had 7 tubes on my intercooler leaking. I took pictures of all the coolant damage as I took the motor apart. Coolant was in the blower, the intake tube and MAF, inside the valve covers, in the intake, and in the crankcase. It wasn't pretty.

When my second (yes second) intercooler went out, it was injesting enough water to make my engine miss, almost completely stall at upper rpms.

Ha ha ha..nope. Ford employees don't get ANY special treatment at dealers. In fact, if anything, they are treated worse. Especially in the detroit area.

I'm so tired of hearing how Ford ****ed
another one of us day in and day out.
And don't go giving me the you wanna play bullschitt.
They DO NOT stand behind the Lightning Modded or Not.
But much worse than that,
THEY HAVE NO CLUE HOW TO FIX THEM
And surely have NO QUALITY CONTROL
in the Plants where they build them.

These Elite Special Limited Edition SVT's leave with
sooooooooooo many known problems that were clearly never double checked before leaving. Problems that are not only known, but also have continued yr after yr. And worse than that, half the problems are from some a$$hole simply not making the bolt or nut tight enough, or using the proper sealant, glue, clip, WHATEVER. EVERYTHING IS TOO LOOSE.

I have personally experienced my Windshield Gasket come off,
My Rear Tail Gate Molding having to be glued back on, my rear window gasket having to be reset and glued, numerous LARGE Bolts falling off in my Drive way, (still don't know from where?)Frayed Gas Pedal Cable, the famous loose drivers side door window gasket, of course the world famous and almost always grrnty'd CLUNK, the elec window noises. ALL FOUND AND FIXED BY ME WHEN BRAND NEW. And yes 3 lose plugs 2 bad, one a definate spitter in training. We have seen plugs spit while leaving a Dealer, we have seen at least two BRAND NEW HD's with loose bolts attempting to hold down the main bearing cap (motors went BOOM) I think almost all of us have the defective and sometimes patched up roof channel screw up. THINGS LIKE THIS ARE THEIR FAULT AND THEIR FAULT ONLY.
No mod's are needed for a motor to give cause the mains are lose, or there's antifreeze lubricating the crank because of a bad head gasket or intercooler. We wont even go into all the oil thats sucked through our intake and intercooler system. What part IF ANY does that play in failure ?? Maybe none, maybe not ?
How many times did an injector get clogged and cause a motor to go lean AND BOOM, Why ??? because we have the same filter as a truck with 1/2 our HP and fuel requirements. How many times did that play a part in failure

MODS OR NOT, most Lightning failures can be easily blamed on POOR QUALITY CONTROL because WE HAVE ALL SEEN enough of US with the SAME PROBLEMS to know IT'S NOT SOMETHING WE DID TO CAUSE IT. How many motors blew while just crusing, how many plug's spit while simply driving at hwy speed along with everyone else. This has happened on Modded and NON MODDED L's. A lose plug or lose main cap would surely explain that one wouldn't it.
