smkstklightning- MY HERO

Why is it anytime someone questions a law or a practice of law enforcement person they either shut the thread down, or the people of that profession get all bent out of shape. Im a stockbroker by trade and I know a lot of stockbrokers that screw their customers over and i know some very good stockbrokers. But if you start a thread saying stockbrokers suck azz I wont get offended because I know there is a considerable number of brokers are crooks. Smkstklightning asked a reasonable question about impairment I see where he was going with it. I didnt agree but this a free board from what I understand and if some wants to say stockbrokers suck thats cool im not going to my jock in a bunch. So please if someone tells of a story being pulled over in their lightning by a obnoxious, jealous cop this is lightning news please dont delete--Its A free country

This board is supposed to be about trucks.

When ANY thread degrades to off topic bashing of each other cops or not it typically get closed/moved

In that case an exception is warranted so that the members here are aware of the issue.

Wouldnt you agree ?

Something else is warranted in that issue(beatdown)but yes I agree with you 1000 percent. I didnt mean bashing cops should be ok. I was saying incidents involving driving your lightning and police should be accepted forum material. Its a shame it gets some other members flamed but everyone has there own horror story dealing with police officers. For the honest police officers out there I have much respect for you.

The part that gets missed here over an over is that we typically only act on threads that have gone WAY off topic, and have degraded in to name calling and bashing. There are a few hot button issues that go there almost every time. The Police is one of them. We are NOT censoring the content or the subject - We are closing a thread that has stopped offering constructive content to the site.

[soapbox on ]

In my opinion to see the 400th 20 year old get on here and call all cops names based on his recent expereince getting a ticket or worse for something that was clearly against the law is chidish, immature and getting really old. Another thread that says the only good cops are the ones that let you off with a warning is just as bad. While I enjoy a warning as much as the next guy I would be much happier if ALL the laws were applied EVENLY all the time. No one would get warnings, all the real criminals would do time, all the petty thives would get caught, BUT also no one would get pulled over for no reason so it would even out. BUT that is a fantasy that wont happen.

If you are driving like an idiot you run the risk of a ticket or worse. Thats life. Wake up and take resposibility for your actions. Dont blame the problem on the system or the police. Look in the mirror and take some responsibilty for your actions. Yes there are *******s in every line of work, BUT in my experience the way you treat people has a lot to do with the way they treat you.

The way many of the young kids here react to the slightest moderation of threads or conduct gives me an indication of the attitude that no doubt they scream either verbally or non verbally when they get pulled over.

Very well put moderator Doug. It's usually the same members who do this type of posting throughout this forum.

For the first time in my life, I actually agree 100% with the moderators response above. Very well stated. You brought the level of intelligence back up in this thread, that disappeared hours ago.

You should get on the soapbox more often. I dont think anyone can say anything after that bit of wisdom.
