Good run with modded WRX....

Well I was driving down Broad St. and look in my rear view and see a WRX glued to my a$$. He followed me for about 5-6 miles then we finally hit open road. I let him catch up to get beside me and we were coastin about 45 mph...let him get the jump then i pounded it pullin by him with ease and put about 4-5 truck lengths on him...i shut her down around 90 and came to a light. He pulled up next to me and gave me the thumbs up. Now here is what I need practice on...I cant get good traction off the line so i have to ease into it, he jumps about 1/2 a car in front of me (damn AWD) outa the whole and thats how we stayed up to 110. Shut her down again and pulled into a gas station...talked for a bit with the guy and ofund out he was modded pretty well...cant really remember all the things he said he had done to it but it was about 4 or 5 and he said he was runnin 15psi. Pretty cool guy but it sucked not beating him from a stand still. Any of you guys ever come across a modded WRX? If so how did ya do

I have only raced a few of those cars, I dont think any of them were modded though. Its hard to tell without talking to the driver. None of them want to race at the track though when Im there, they just wave me through the line so Im not lined up with them.

I would think they would be pretty quick with a few toys here and there and some added boost.

I own one. The guy was probably talking about a vishnu stage 4 or a turboxs stage 4. The AWD is great, most drivers can cut 1.8 60' with them, some of the better drivers are getting 1.7x on stock (read ****ty) tires. With nothing but a boost controller they can be in the 13's. Mostly a low 14 second car stock. I have yet to run mine at the track. I plan to spend a couple grand on mine and have it running low 13's high 12's.

my friend has one thats modded pretty hard. hes got a built motor at 18lbs of boost. they are low end cars and dont have a lot of highway or top end pull. im running a 6lber and a few other mods and from a dead dig he jumps me a few cars out of the hole, then i slowly climb on him and have about a half a car on him. he used to run a 100shot wet but took it off, if he woulda had the 100shot he would have raped me.

I just started a new job. We had a WRX come into the shop a couple of days ago. It has some mondo 3" exhaust on it. It has a light and codes set on it.

I don't think the guys that I work with really know what a Lightning is all about.

I made the comment that the WRX is almost as fast as the Lightning, then went on to say that the Lightning weighs 4700+lbs. Also let them know that the Lightning was just tested for top speed at a verified 146m.p.h. (aerodynamically limited) LOL heehee..........

They are all Chevy or Dodge guys. I said I'll take ya for a ride in a Ford. :-)

The new WRX is 300 hp. They're not out yet though. Those are going to be pretty tough.

Really? Hmm I may have to go take a gander!

I love AWD vehicles....you can launch on the street almost as hard as you can at the track! Downside is finding AWD dynos
