Spark Plug Inserts

I am going to have the heads off my motor and want to install inserts so that I no longer need to worry about blowing a plug.

Historically, with standard, gasketed, plugs I have always used Helicoils, However, I am a little concerned about loss of sealing surface with our tapered seat plugs.

My second choice would be the "Lock-n-Stitch" aluminum inserts. I prefer these over steel inserts since there would be less loss of heat transfer.

Anybody have any input, particularly with regard to the Helicoils?

Try a seach using Heli-Coil. Heli-Coil wire inserts are the way to go. My .02

I'm not familiar with "Lock and Stitch" but one of the reasons that our heads and plugs do not like each other is because an aluminum head needs more than 4 threads to safely secure the plug. A steel head would've had no problems with only 4 threads...

Helicoil seems like the way to go for our trucks....
