Question Race vs Pump gas program

I have never had a full out race program on my chip, and was wondering what the difference is between the two. I run a program right now for 93 octane with 17 total degrees of timing and A/F of 12.0 clear across the boards. I have a flip chip and that has always been my race program other side is just plain ol street side with 13 degrees timing and 11.0 A/F. SO would i gain some good gains with a ALL out race program? On the race/street side of my chip now with # 5 lower pulley, coldair, E fan and Cobra R water pump i made 397 hp to the wheels. So i cant complain about my HP for the mods i have, i thought that was some good numbers. This fall i plan on a few more mods like longtubes and full exhaust plus couple other things and was wondering about a full out race program and what the difference is, i kinda figured that it would have more timing (with a higher octane fuel) but wasnt for sure. Any thing else that is different between the two. Anyone care to share here

I've been running like you Black SVT,
My former street programs were @15 Degrees with A/F's in the 10's and 11's and the Race Side was always 16-17 Degrees with A/F going low 12's at WOT. I've had good luck with them all.

I've been able to use even my Race program on the street all winter long with month after month of freezing temps, and even single digit temps in the morning, with no detonation, pinging, or trouble. (17 degrees, on pump gas)

So I have 2 new programs coming today with a little more timing to see if I can still use it on pump gas. I'm trying @16 for the street, and 18 on the Race Side. I'll let you know how it works out. Hopefully I'll do a little testing tonight if the weather allows.

To answer your question, sure if you go to a 103 octane 19-21 degree timing program with mid 12 A/F your gonna run faster at the track. But I believe that is when people GO BOOM
so I won't do it. I'll run Hi Octane Race Fuel at the Track "when it's available" on my race side, but not because I HAVE TOO in order for it to not detonate. With a built Motor I would feel differant about this, but I don't have a built Motor.

Thanx for the info Rob, i too run about 3-4 gallons 103 in with the 93 at the track or around town to make sure it is safe and the octane is up enough so it wont det i have also done some high blast like 120 in colder temps like 40-50 with not one problem eben pulled all the plugs after to see if it was running lean and ALL looked GREAT .. I have to had good luck with my race/street program went 12.74 @ 108 on it in a pretty good air day.
