Best OIL to run in 00 lightning.....

About to make my first oil change in the lightning what weight and type of oil is everybody using.. I used 5w20 mobil 1 syn. in the mustang. Just wondering what you guys use.

You asked for the BEST: http://www.royalpurple.com/rpro/rpro.shtml I put rp's #11(5w20) Racing oil in at 4,000 miles. Now at 49,600 trouble-free miles.

Btw, here is the BEST oil filter too--IMHO: http://www.knfilters.com/oilfilter.htm p/n HP2010.

I've used them on other vehicles in the past. May have to spend the $$ and get one..........

Too bad their fuel filters won't fit our Ls .

Man I feel so plebian with my Mobil 1 5w30 and Motorcraft FL820S filter

I may go after your combo this upcoming oil change Dan... How much total does it set you back every 3000 miles or so?

About $70(including shipping + tax)--6 qts of RP at $9/qt, $11/K&N.

Can I pick up that K&N filter anywhere or do I have to order it? I have a Pep Boys and "The Zone" here....

There is no best, just preferences. Use what you feel comfortable with whether it be dino or synthetic. Their are many successful stories for each. I prefer Chevron, but that's what I sell.
