TV + PS2 intall ?

Well my brother in law gave me his eclipse 7301 tv.
Eclipse TV
It is a double DIN unit so first off I was wondering if it will even fit?
Secondly, I'm interested in hooking up a PS2 to it. I bought some 10ft monster cables for it, I would imagine i need a AC converter,

what else do i need and any installation tips for installing the tv and/or the PS2 would be nice.

Jon

Our trucks are a din and 1/2. You can move the AC/Heater controls and make it work. It may be easier to sell it and buy a single din fold out.

That's incorrect. Our trucks are double-din. Chrysler radios are 1-½ DIN, and they're ALOT smaller than ours. Also, there are many double-din mounting kits available for our trucks.

Otherwise, you will probably have to do something custom for the mounting, since it doesn't mount the same as a normal Ford radio.

If you're interested, I have a Kenwood VZ907 headunit, which I could trade with you... It's the same thing as the current Kenwood headunits with pop-out TV, except it uses a 5.7" LCD, instead of the 6.4", and only has CD in-dash, instead of DVD... Has 2 A/V inputs, TV tuner w/antenna, etc. Let me know if you're interested at all.

Sorry, to answer your other question, the only other thing you would need is an AC inverter, which you can pick up from ebay VERY cheap... I forget how many watts the PS2 uses, but I know you can use a 150-Watt inverter for it with no problems.

What I did for mine, is I bought a vertical-mount kit, which I screwed down behind the seats. It flexed the walls of the mout kit in a little bit, so the PS2 fits in there VERY snugly.

It would definitely require some cutting to fit in the glove compartment, but it would be great!

Actually, you'll probably need to shave off some of the frame (that surrounds the din area) in order to get everything to fit. I think RTKILLA has two din units and had to to this...

I have a power invertor mounted under the driver's dash (near the steering column). The outlets were extended and mounted on that center piece along with the RCAs...

This was done so I could switch gaming consoles, VCR, etc easily. I have more RCA ins/outs under my driver's seat....

LightningSVT: The only problem I see you having are the lack of places to mount your boxes. I have mine under my driver's seat and could not fit anything under my passenger seat because I still want to retain the jack. I see in your sig your subs and assume your amps are mounted under your seats right now...

You're right, we do have a double din. I guess it just looks smaller because of the frame.

Yeah your right, I was moving it around today seeing where I could possibly put it. I have one amp under the seat and one on the back wall. If I didnt need space for the plugs for the PS2 out the back I would have some room. Thats why I was thinking something custom in the glove, or it fits vertical on the right side of the box, behind the drivers seat. The only problem with this is I would have to get out and put the seat up to change disks. Kind of as pointless as the stock changer

No flame. Seriously, do you guys sit in your trucks and play video games? You must REALLY like your truck to want to sit in it to play games and watch TV.

Don't change the subject, I'm trying to get installation tips....

Its for the passengers, I mainly want it because its a cheap way to put a DVD player in it for long trips if you really need reasoning.

I put my inverter underneath of the center section of the passenger seat. As for my outboard units, since the Kenwood has 2, I have the main brain mounted where Cyntaxx has his video inputs (behind that panel), and the A/V input unit mounted under my driver's seat. It's not that bad to change discs on the PS2 behind the seat, though, but it would definitely be alot nicer in the glove compartment.
