Shackles: DJM vs. Belltech

Thinking about shackles finally, I know there isn't much science to it but how are the DJM 2 inch shackles compared to the Belltech ones? Same exact design with a different name pretty much? I see the DJM are about 20 bucks cheaper...

I know Rob02 has a set...

Are the DJM's a true or close 2 inch drop? Are they level on both sides?

(I have JLP Rancho-style bars and straight pipes...shouldn't have clearance problems right?)

You know I got to post a picture now cyntaxx
it's like a sickness you know

Ya I know, mine are backwards, but thats how they came out,
so thats how they went back in. Many are like that (backwards)

Mine are level, made it exactly how I wanted it

For 29.95 YOU CAN NOT GO WRONG

Yes they are all the same. Both use urethane bushings and fit and finish is the same.Yes they are level and I would reccomend them just as good as bell tech. Now on the other hand i would be real picky when it came to springs for the front end.I personally have seen some real strange things happen with cheap springs.Usually DJM stuff is good stuff at great price .

$29 cant beat it.

The belltech's have rubber bushings.

I had the belltechs, 50 bucks from LFP, and seem to be the most popular ones out there.

Just put in bigger shackles today though for another inch drop.

I dont think it'll really matter which brand ones you choose

Sweet, I'm going to order those DJM shackles...

I want to eventually end up with about a 2/3 drop so would 2 inch shackles work well with the Hotchkis leafs? I hear they drop your truck an additional 1 inch correct? Would it be a true 3 inch drop with the combination of the Hotchkis leafs and DJM 2 inch shackles?

I just want to make sure it turns out how I want it more than $$$ issues. Don't want to half-a$$ it if it comes down to a couple of bucks, hell I already spent 3k+ on mods and I haven't even TOUCHED the suspension...

As for front springs, I'm considering either the Hotchkis or Ruslow's 1000 lb. ones. What rate are the Hotchkis coils? My friend has Eibach's in the front and it dropped his front close to 2 inches but I don't know if I'm ready for a 2 inch front drop without some sort of bump steer kit available. He simply removed his bump stops completely I think....

Sorry for the long-winded post...

"Shackle Kit - drops back of truck approximately 2" so truck sits level but more important the pinion angle is increased from 0-2° negative which makes the truck hook a lot better. Poly-bushings included with shackles."

Cost: $80

Do all the shackles come with "0-2 degree negative pinion angle" or just PHP's. Also, what is the real benefit of this and what's the logic behind it?

Seems pretty pricey considering similar ones can be had for 30-50 dollars less? (Unless I'm missing something here )

It's nothing special, just the result of lowering the back of the truck 2". While Paul's parts may be of good quality, the shackles are no better or different than any others. Heck, the only shackles I've ever seen that look like they're higher quality pieces are Western Chassis and JLP's....

But, I wouldn't spend more than $30 on the shackles... Some may be slightly beefier, but if they weren't safe, they couldn't sell them!

LoL!, yeah, i don't have much room to talk spending 115 bucks on a set of 4" (really 3") shackles

but nobody else makes a true 3" shackle. A bunch of companies make 2" shackles, and charging 30-50 bucks more for the exact same thing is kinda crazy.
