Question Idle air control valve question

My truck has this little erratic miss at idle. I'm trying to go through the steps and look at some items.

I'm to the idle control valve IAC
The part which is on my truck according to the Ford counter isn't for my truck. #XS2E-9F715BA
The Ford guy says I need part # F67Z-9F715-BB what is in the box is a #F67Z-9F715-BA and with it my truck seems to idle a little better.

I read on another forum that the IAC valve has been upgraded. I did a search but could not find the number(s). Btw, this was on a Mustang forum so I'm not sure that it applies to us...........

Skankdog has had this problem for a long time, the miss at idle. He's tryed everthing. We were going to see if it was a bad o2 sensor but their a little high to use as a test. Let us know what you find out and we will try it.

I put it on. Like I said it feels like it idles better...It may just be me justifying a $45 part.
I think the coil packs were my real problem. I just replaced 4 dealer only had 4 and it accelerates better...

Was the IAC just dirty or malfunctioning?
