Not really a kill, but more of a suprise!

Just a little something I wanted to post concerning a little "race" last night at a light here in Granite Bay. I was sitting there at a light on my way to return a movie to Blockbuster, when I see a pair of headlights that were obviously corvette's. I thought "sweet, here comes a C5 snack for the L!". It pulls up, and it's an electron blue Z06. Whew, beautiful car, with chrome rims and fully loaded. Anyways, the guys rolls down his window and I tell him nice Z, he gives me the thumbs up and tells me he loves my trucks, and has heard their pretty quick. I nod. Then I hear him rev it a bit, and I give him a rev and let him hear the Eaton whine a bit. Out of the corner of my eye I can see him smile, I hit OD off, and bring the truck up to about 1500 RPM. He's revvin and inchin up towards the line (my heart was beating so hard, never raced a Z06 before) Anyways, light goes green, and I get a great launch (2nd great launch on these Kumho's) Take him outta the hole like nothin, almost a car length! At about 40 he was at my rear bumper, but I ran door to door with him up until 70 when traffic came up. We both let off at about 70mph, but hell, the look on his face was priceless. He looks over and gives me another HUGE thumbs up, and says "I can't believe how quick that thing is!" Anyways, he woulda obviously pulled a few cars on me had we gone up to 90 or 100, but I was proud of my truck running door to door with a Z06 until 70!!I have great respect for those things, beautiful cars and fast too!

Z06

I ran one at New England Dragway when I was pretty stock, tree'd him good and at about the 400ft make he promptly disposed of me, the car runs mid 11's on Nittos all day.

Thanks guys. But I'm sure with a better launch or better driver(not really sure if he was a bad driver or not) he woulda had me by a few carlengths.

Yeah, I thought the 20's would slow me down a bit, and in reality they probobly did, but I sure can't feel it. These tires are amazing though! I highly recommed the Kumho Ecsta 712's 295/40/20 for anyone going to a 20" rim.!

ShadowL,

Yep! North Dallas/Plano/Frisco has tons of 'Vettes and Z06s.

The few that I've run up on look at me kind of funny when I rev on 'em.

"Respect the L, b#tch!"

...or something.
