For about 300 bucks you can get the Ranchos. No preloading. Install is more of a hassle but I know most of the 10 second trucks are running Rancho-style bars....
What is the part number for the Lakewoods? Are the easy to bolt on without any modifications? I was going to get the Truk-Traks, but hey, if the Lakewoods are the same at a 150 less, I'm in! Thanks. Also does any one have pics of lakewoods installed?

I had Lakewood's too! They couldn't take the daily pounding of LA's industrial streets. I pulled the threads of the fine thread u-bolts. The bars never failed though.
Then Truck-Traks were born.
Mine have been on the truck for two years (50,000 miles), and I haven't had to readjust or tighten them. The large mounting pad eliminates slippage.
Out of 170 sets that I have built, I have had only one bar rejected due to the fact that it was only tack welded. The customer had it a month, and it never failed. His muffler shop noticed it when they installed his cat back.
I try to do the best I can.

I aboslutley love mine! They help me hook up a lot quicker and were a breeze to put on. They are machined great and look awesome, I couldn't have asked for a better product. Thanks Jay!
if you ever compared lakewoods and TT, you can tell TTs are a much better unit, way more beefier. i would not go with lakewoods. if you do go with crapwoods, replace the bolts with grade 8 bolts. you dont want them coming loose and pogoing and tearing out your rearend.
my L is a stock 2000, one thing I noticed when I got it is wheel hop... if i nail it from a red light on the street, its like the back end wants to just bounce all over the road like freakin mexican hydraulics in reverse or something
do these help with that? or make it worse (as you mention - bouncy)
also going around a corner unless I'm going quite slow, the back wheels want to hop around the corner instead of making a smooth turn, is that just from being a truck or is there something I can do to lessen that ?
