space btwn leaf spring and traction bar?

I bought a pair of lakewood traction bars.

How much space do I put between the Leaf and the ruber Snubber? I have a short snubber and a longer one. which should I use?

Any Pictures woud be greatly appreciated?

(I thought you didn't put any space, but a friend says "ya put about 2" between them, I'm confused)

the less space you put the more traction you get. but along with that you get a stiffer ride. and you can cause damage to your spring. like when you go over a bump... you'll feel it more. dont load heavy with the snubber on. i take mine off if i get a big load in the back you dont want the snubber to press against the spring when you are driving... only at hard acceleration. i would put the bigger snubber in on "raceday" if i were you

I have the Lakewoods on my truck. I put about 3/4" of space on mine and they seem just right. I can feel them working on the street as well as the track. My ride however did not suffer at all.

am I going to run into problems with the lakewoods if I install a 2" rear lowering shackle?

My daily driver with Truck-Traks is 1 1/4". You never feel them until you mash it. Anything less is too bouncy for my taste.

my L is a stock 2000, one thing I noticed when I got it is wheel hop... if i nail it from a red light on the street, its like the back end wants to just bounce all over the road like freakin mexican hydraulics in reverse or something

do these help with that? or make it worse (as you mention - bouncy)

also going around a corner unless I'm going quite slow, the back wheels want to hop around the corner instead of making a smooth turn, is that just from being a truck or is there something I can do to lessen that ?

hmm

traction bars are designed to stop the hopping.

they place transer more weight to the axle (to keep it on the ground) and also eliminate axel Wrap, (which is why your rear-end bounces.

once I get them installed (within a week) I'll take some pics and post them.
