Ground Effects Paint Cracking?
Ground Effects Paint Cracking?
For some reason, its getting much worse everytime I wash my truck. Seems like the water is destroying them. But they must be cleaned! I am not taking it to the auto washers anymore. I am cleaning it myself and I think I am still seeing some paint chips and cracking :/
It looks really horrible now. Even have light scratching. I think I need a good buffing from a decal shop. Either way, I still need to get the ground effects repainted :/ The front is just that horrible. I just wonder how much its going to cost. Anyone on here do any painting work?
Cheap?
Good?
Big question is though, how do I keep this from happening again? Any one have any suggestions to keep the paint in good shape? I keep it washed frequently and use that 'spray on' wax stuff that is damn expensive but I heard was some of the best wax protection you can use. Thanks!

Body/Paint is covered for 7yrs/70,000 miles i thought?
Paint shouldnt be cracking, let alone flaking off.
The 1990 Mustang GT's with the silver body kit had the exact same problem. One day i went out to wash my GT and the silver paint started coming right off. Next thing you know, i see this ugly yellow stuff from the plastic body pieces. Over a course of one year, Ford resprayed it 6 times. Finally, the last application solved it. The asked if i wanted the titanium clear coat painted from top to bottom
Anyhow, take it into Ford and see what they say. It should be covered.
