Towing with the L this weekend

Had a invitation to meet some friends on the sand dunes last weekend.
Loaded up my sandrail on the lightweight open trailer and threw some stuff in the back of the L and took off. I figure I was at about 2.500lbs. but that is just a guess.

The truck ran great and never got hot. If I left the cruize on it would downshift on hills but would hold the set point.

I decided it was better to tap the brakes to release the cruize and keep the boost at about 5 lbs. and loose a little speed to avoid the shifting.

Mileage dropped from 17 1/2 empty to about 11 towing.
It was 600 miles round trip. On the way home I was usually 75mph and the mileage dropped but I sure surprised a lot of folks with regular cars and trucks.

Sure felt like king of the road and I love this truck more and more with every outing. One toy that can do it all with style!!!!

Wonder how she would do with some sandpaddle tires on those 1/8 mile sand drags?

I second that. You must drive like my grandfather.
I got 15.7 on my last tank of all highway and I jumped for joy at the gas station.

From: Colorado,
I have a stock 99 with the 3:55 gears.
Empty with the cruiz at 70 MPH I been getting 17 1/2 MPG highway and 15 in town.
If I leave the overdrive off and play in town it drops to 13 MPG

Has 26k miles I am also at 5,000 feet in colorado. Maybe the fuel system is leaning me out due to less air???

It came with a flip chip and I don't know how it is tuned but I like it.
