MTX amp Line Level seamless turn on ?

Bought a 4 channel 404 Thunder and it will not come on...unless I unplug the channel in high level leads and plug in after the head has come on..the amp pops loudly when turning the key ffor power....and I am getting some hum outta it when the engine is running...

motor noise...sounds like a whine.....

now I'm whinning...

The amp has the instant seamless on when tied to factory heads....

Mtx said they have had this problem with bose speaker systems...mine are infiinity with mtx 10"s...in back...

4 ohm load all around.....200 watts per
channel.....

I plan on buying another amp for just the rear and daisey chainning them....

MTx suggested a convertoer to jump to RCA jack in...kinda defeats the seamless on option...MTX was vague....

The MTX's auto turn-on circuitry will not work with our head units. The reason is that the speaker outputs drive a voltage even though the head unit is off. I used a David Navone line output convertor to connect the head unit to my MTX 4244.

Hope this helps,
Edward

True. Like Ed said, It's always on.
That's my only complaint.

I have a Alpine amp witht eh same feature. When the head unit turns on, so does the amp (or it should). It didn't work no matter how I wired it, so I finally hooked the power to the remote on circuit, AND to the positive power terminal. I have a switch on there so I can turn the amp on and off if I need.

I have left the amp on, with the truck off for 8 hours with no problem. 350 watt amp

I went with a line level converter...

Now I still get the engine noise....

Tried a ground loop isolator..no luck..

I have been told filters are a bandaid...

8 gauge ground and power.....

rolling the window down adds noise....

rev and more noise.....

cut off the engine and it is nice and quiet....sound is clean.....

could it be an alternator diode going bad?

Typically, ground loop problems are related to poorly grounded amps. Your ground wire should be as short as possible. The metal around the screw/bolt that holds down your loop/spade connector should be free of all paint. Alternator whine can also be present if the output level from your LOC(line output convertor) and the gain on your amp are not matched.
