Kill story and question...

Was out cruisin earlier tonight on the way to pick up a movie and realized I was driving alongside a Eclipse that had a small wing on the back, looked a bit ricey and wasn't thinking about it, but then the kid hit the blow off valve. I gave the bassani a little rumble and soon we were side by side and took off from about a 50mph roll. By about 70mph I had about 3 cars on him or more. Then we get a stoplight, and I ask him about it. He says its the stock turbo right from the factory but he put a 3" downpipe?(I dont know much about turbos) on it. I ask if he wants to try again from a stop. He says yeah, as long as there's no cops. We glance and he gives the thumbs up. I hear him start to spool the turbo up, so I hit the overdrive off and bring the rev's up to about 1500 RPM. Having just put on my 20" rims I was skeptical about how I would hook and run, so this was my chance to try it out. Soon as the light goes green, it was a joke. I had the best launch of my life possibley, no spin at all, just a quick roll into it and I heard him spin a bit, but by about 60 mph or so I had easily 7 or more carlengths on him and was still pulling fast. We both went our separate ways, him looking at the truck in disbelief and saying, "wow I wish I could get some traction". My question is, what kind of eclipse was this, and how much HP and such do they run. (Think it was a GSX?) Also, I was under the impression that this car was an AWD car, so shouldn't his launch in theory be better than mine? Just wondering, wasn't much of a race, but I'm ecstatic about how the Kumho's coupled with my launch performed on the street! I honestly don't think I've lost any performance at all, at least that I can feel. Can't wait to take it to the track next weekend!! Anybody have any ideas about this Eclipse though?

Ah the power of the internet
I simply searched Eclipse GSX
and it was the 2nd site that came up.

My older Bro has a nice Eclipse (no turbo)
Seems like a pretty cool car, but not enough power for me.

I really got to get a life someday don't I Gator

Shadow: Tell us more about your Kumhos--size, wear rating, etc., if you know. I'm impressed by the good launch/traction they gave you !

Sure, they are 295/40/20...the one's recommended by RTKilla and some others. I probobly have less than 200 miles on them so far, having just put the wheels on about 3 weeks ago. But yeah, so far I'm very happy with these Kumho's, their the Ecsta 712's. you can get them on tirerack for $211 a piece. In short, I like them much better than the F1's!!! Traction is better, and maybe it's just me, but the truck seems to take turns alot better too, much smoother.
