How many Lightning owners also own another F150?
My original bad boy was a 1998 F150 XLT 4X4 Flareside, Silver, 5.4 w/ intake, exhaust, chip, grilles, tint, belltech 4x4 drop, 20" Boss 301, and a few other things, hence my username.
It was my first vehicle, it has so many memories attached with it. Still runs strong as ever, but I raised it back up to stock and sold the wheels.
After that came the SVT, loved the Stull grilles on my original f150, so I put them on my SVT.
However, that F150 XLT still carries a certain charm to it. In fact, it feels more badass than my lightning, although its slow as hell lol
My SVT is another story. That thing is miles ahead....
edit: the Stull grilles on my F150 XLT stayed on, I also ordered a Lightning set...

89
Have an 89 4X4 to blast me through the winter snow berms. Don't even use snow tires. Use it from time to time, exploding through berms the plows have left at our business (sometimes 4 foot high). Has 113k on it, still looks good, and even though we are the snow capital of Alaska, I can't remember getting it stuck.

As a multi-F150 owner, I'm curious about Lightning owners and their "other" F150s. As you can see in my sig, I also have a 97 F150 4X4 , and although I love driving the L, I also love my '97 conversion truck for coping with Minnesota winters and for hauling those "nasties" I would never haul with the Lightning. Have to admit, I also appreciate the extended cab roominess and the ability to just toss stuff "back there."
Would be interested in how you other Lightning guys compare and use your trucks.

I have the 2002 lightning and until Ford does something with the way there doing warranty work might be my last ford.
I had two, a 97 and a 99'F150 XLT SuperCabs at the same time for a couple of years. Then I traded the 97'F150 for a 01'Maxima.
Then the Maxima and the 99'F150 both got totaled in a flood from a tropical storm in Sept. of 2001. Then I got my 01'Lightning and a 00'Chevy Silverado.
I would have gotten another F150 instead of the Silverado but could not pass up the great deal on the Chevy... $10k for a one year old 00'Silverado with only 3000 miles
It is a decent truck. I do like the f150's a bit better.
My wife drives the Chevy, but she wants to trade it in for a Navi, Aviator, or SuperCrew when we have kids.

Other than my L (see sig), I currently drive a 1998 F-150 Supercab Flareside. Its been lowered 2"/3", dual Flowmasters out the back, Snugtop bedcover, Rhinolining. I actually 'sold' it to my daughter when I got the L, but while she's away at college, I'm allowed to use it as I like. So I drive it to work, the dumps, wherever. I got it on Valentine's Day (nice wife, huh?) in '98. If I'd have known that the L would come out that Fall, I'd have waited.
Previously, I had a '90 F-250HD XLT Supercab longbed. It carried a camper weighing about 3K pounds, while towing a trailer with 3 pwc or my wife's '69 Bronco (still have that).
Before the '90, we had a '73 F-250 XL Camper Special. Got it used from my father-in-law by paying off the new tires.
[Currently, besides the two F-150's and '69 Bronco, we have a '69 Mustang GT that needs total resto, and a '34 Ford Cabriolet (convertible) fenderless hot rod with a 460/C-6/9" posi, etc., not to mention the '98 Tioga on a Ford E-Super Duty V-10 chassis. But you didn't ask that.]
I figure if I sold my L and my hot rod for what I've got into them, I could buy a Viper.

glad to see some fellow hot rodders on the board! our garage is also full of Fords. the 01 L (mods in the sig) shares garage space with a 32 ford roadster (convertible with no windows), 32 ford 3 window coupe (fenderless), 33 ford cabriolet (convertible with roll up windows), 34 ford 3 window coupe (427 bb Chevy, TH400 trans and 9" posi rear), plus my dads cruiser red & white '55 Chevy Bel Air convertible and my '66 Corvette (pics in my gallery). my dad's daily driver is a black '99 SHO with flowmasters, chip, intake and pulleys, and my mom drives a red '97 Cadillac Eldorado ETC (300 hp/285 tq, this thing moves!)
