coil pack price increase again?

I wanted to get some at the $25 each price and I ordered too late. I think the price increased to around $50 each. Now I see they are at around $68.

What is making the price on these go up? More vehicles with more coil packs should mean price drops. Right? Are there improvements which justify price increases? Is it that so many fail they cover that with the price increases?

They now have a overflow for excess power. If that **** leaks out its even worse than coolant.

Now you're just being silly.

They have an improved internal motor, to help them launch further. They found that most weren't penetrating the hood when they launched.

So, have the coil packs been improved since the last price increase a few months ago?

Leonard,

They are the same coil packs we have been using. Ford raises and lowers prices whenever they want to according to my local Ford dealer parts guy. When they see people ordering a lot of that part, they raise the price.

OK Everybody, quit ordering the coilpacks, so we can get the price back down where it belongs

Yep...there has been an increase in price on the '01 + lights and driveshaft as well. Anything Ford figures out they can make money on.

Cool

"ying"

It's called a "free market society" guys. If you want a price held at a certian rate no matter what the market calls for? There are other countries that would gladly accept your citizenship and 100% *participation*.

On the other hand we have a perfectly legit complaint if we are having to replace these with under 150k miles on them. (engineering goal)

I hope there is no need for a coil in my immediate future, but if there is, its good to know that they are available thru the aftermarket and alot cheaper. I just checked NAPA and they got them for 27 bucks.

You gotta learn business math

If they sell 100 a month @ $25 each thats $2500.

So if the next month they sell the same @ $50 each thats $5000.

But if demand shoots up and more people want them, why not jack up the price even more, so 150 @ $68 thats $10,200.

never underestimate corporate greed ...
