Looks like a go...... Need Help

I went down and test drove an 03 L again...the ony I am looking at is Black with a build date in december. Would that one have the new heads????? They have a silver one with a build date of feb but it is 700$ more. This is based on how long the dealer has had them for. They are a no ****er dealer, and the longer they are on the lot, the lower the price goes. The black one has 200 miles on it.... these are all test drive miles... do you think that would be a concern????.. not sure of the break in on these motors yet......Last question the black one you could see the swirl marks in the paint a bit... actully they had two black ones and they both had swirl marks..... does that buff out.. or is that just the way it goes??????? He recommend a place that does paint sealeant on them for like 265$... anyone heard of that...

THanks for all your help.. I have a 48 hour hold on it..... basically I am trying to decide between the silver one and the black one.... thanks Doug.....

Silver 03? No such beast. Is it dark shadow grey?

No question on what I would get. Black is a pain to keep clean

Those 200 test driven miles would bother me for a long time.

Ain't that the truth. I'd say go for the Dark Shadow Grey one... Should have the new heads if it was made in Feb...

DSG any day! Dark colors are hard to keep up, but black will drive you crazy. Been there, done that.

It doesn't matter when the truck was assembled, it matters when the heads were cast, but if Ford uses "just in time" you should be fine. I would check the stenciled dates on the heads, though, just to make sure that they were cast after 11/12/02.
