Has anyone heard of Ford having problems w/ the Sonic Blue color?

Story is the girlfriend put a deposit on a SB SVT Focus that was due at the dealership towards the end of this month. Short version is the salesman called up this morning and told her that Ford is having problems with the color and that the arrival date of the car she put money is un-known, as in it may come in or talk of Ford cancelling the color.

I wasn't able to reach the salesman all day to try and get more details. But has anyone heard of problem?

I kinda believe it's true because she searched 10 states in the area and was only able to find 6 SB SVT Foci. I called a few dealers and none of them even had any coming.

Well tomorrow the search continues. But any rumors or anything out there on this?

The SVT Focus sonic blue was a limited run for the early part of 03--i.e. they are all built already, with a few 3 doors and 5 doors hanging about. Dealer less than 1 mile from me has a loaded Sonic Blue 5 door with HID's. Wouldn't be surprised if that girl doesn't get her car.

BTW, my 02 supercharged SVT focus rocks! Like a damn go cart!

 

2002 was supposed to be the only year for the SB SVT Focus and it also was the color chosen for the moonroof. They did run a few 100 SB's for 03 and stopped.

However, ive not noticed any paint problems with my Sonic Blue. I am very **** about paint quality and take care of my vehicles.

I saw a SB Lightning this weekend and his paint looked perfect.
