Just thought I'd share this, me and a Z06 owner at a light next to eachother...on to the story: I was driving around doing some errand Sat. afternoon when I look in my rearview and see a sleek looking black corvette pulling through traffic. He obviously saw me, because he's pulling in and out of traffic trying to get up next to me. Well he does, and it's a nice lookin black Z06 (not sure what year) and the guy looks to be in his late 20's. He stops next to me and says "Sweet lookin truck man! Those have 380hp right?" I said "385 yeah, but with my mods it has a bit more than that." I asked him what mods he had done, he just said Titanium exhaust, I told him I loved his vette, that the Z06's were sweet. The light turned green, and we had to go, couldn't get a run in though cause there were a few cars in front of us, but was a nice guy and I could tell we definetly had a mutual respect for eachothers rides. Wish I coulda ran him for fun, prolly would have beat me down by a few carlengths, but woulda been fun anyway.

 

I had the misfortune of running one on the highway. I was cruising down 295 on my way to work when I see a Z06 merging into traffic. As soon as he got over, I nailed it...was with him til about 100, but he walked me pretty bad after that.

I think it takes an oxymoron to make a statement like that. I know a number of 'vette owners, Z06 and otherwise, and they are all cool people. A couple I know who auto-x their Z06 have been nothing but friendly, encouraging and instructive regarding my efforts to auto-x my truck. Performance oriented folks are a special breed, and most of them tend to hang together, regardless of which brand of iron they drive. It takes a real jerk to dis someone else's ride just because it isn't made by Mother Ford, imo.

 

Most C5 owners are a-holes. But a Z06 owner is actually getting the car for its performance ,not for the status or looks. I personally know a guy who has a Z06 with a built 383 in it with a blower AND nitrous! He is the coolest car guy I have met.

Yeah Im pretty sure Z06's do come stock with titanium exhaust.
Its like a $3,000 dollar exhaust.

 

Yes, Lightnings have 380HP from the factory, not 385, and the Z06 DOES come with a titanium exhaust from the factory.

And, not sure about the 'Vette, but a titanium turbo-back for the Supra runs about $2500. (Downpipe w/integrated high-flow cat, cat-back.)

 

Alright...I'll take the heat for the 380/385 remark...musta had a brain fart. DoH!

 

I'd like to hear a little more about the methodology of your research study.

Lol. No, it will be a cold day in hell before I own a Chebby. But it will also be a cold day in hell before I own another Ford, either (although I wish I could afford a GT40 or an S7). My point is, and I'm sure most of you who are not mentally challenged understand, is that its asinine to generalize about the alleged personality characteristics of different marque owners (except for BMW drivers, of course). One of my dream cars would be a Toyota like my buddy's, and it would blow the doors off your Lightning.
