The red bottle is fine, so is the black, they just changed the bottle.

So I guess valvoline, penzoil, quakerstate, castrol gtx are the same but their in a differant bottle.I thought b@m was based more toward type F for firmer shifts.

Motorcraft is Fine, Mobil 1 synth is better in hot climates, and that's about the gist of it. I swear I'm gonna start selling fluid, there is one additive that makes a diffenrce in clutch wear (it's really good) and other than that I don't see much difference in any name brand, certainly anyone who tells you they can tell the difference from driving it either has the wrong fluid or is fooling themself.

Ther are slight differences, but essentially they're not too different. The different types are diferent chemical bases, made to be compaitble with the friction plates and seals in the box. Use the wrong kind and you can disolve the selas or the friction material. I did have a quart of one of those fancly fluids analyzed once, teh guy in the lab told me it was about the same as WalMart brand in an expensive bottle.

I'm not telling.... at least not right away. After I wrote it I got to thinking, and I just may start selling it. I could sell 5 gallon buckets of fluid with it allready in it, cheaper than Mobil 1 but a little more than Motorcraft...hmm,, I just may do that.
It's not generally availible, the company that makes it hasn't even considered it for use in transmissions, it's just something that is good for the plates, i heard about it from a Raybestos rep a long time ago and I've used it since. The make it for some kind of aviation power couplings that Raybestos makes the friction parts for. You can't tell any difference in driving it, but you can see the difference when you tear down the box. I put it in every Monster Box already, it only takes 12 oz for the fill. It's a synthetic ester, before I actually sold it I'd have to get more detailed info on it, but it's pretty neat stuff.
