I was just reading some old posts on Lightnings top speeds here on the board and didn't see good old Don post on any of them. I know Don's truck runs like 124+ mph in the quarter. Just wondering how fast you've gone Don, and or how fast you think it would go!! probably insane

 

If you want top speed talk to Ruslow. I have heard he has gotten his going pretty fast.

Last he was up at JDM's I believe he was getting the truck tuned for 170 or 180 mph runs.

 

I know it was doing 130/135 on rt 33

 

I don't know what the top speed on the street would be. The fastest I have ever had it on the street was about 120mph or so, and that was only a short blast.

Since I did the new cams 50# injectors, fuel pumps and the KB I don't think I have had it over 110mph on the street. I am sure if Jim burned me a chip like Ruslow runs it would have mad top end potential, but my chip is not tuned for long high speed runs.

Every time I think about doing a nice high-speed run on 33 in Freehold, I see a damned cop.

But, Rt 9 is even MORE insane

Ruslow's truck can go 170+ mph holy ****!! I try to keep up to date on this board but apperently not enough. Ruslow have you ever been clocked going this fast? A truck going that fast is truly a testiment of what these trucks can do if you have the time and money.. unbelevable.
