repair manual or instruction booklet???

I am a 19 year old with some car experience. I have never taken classes or anything. I want to learn a lot more about my truck and what everything is and how exactly everything works before i start modding. That way when i break something i will know wtf happened. I wish i knew more and i am looking for a book or manual that i can read and learn about how it all works and understand more about my truck. Anyone got any suggestions? Any help is much appreciated.

Ford Shop manuals are available from Helm Inc.
They are not cheap, costing me about $260 for F-series w/Lightning and wire diagrams back in 1999. But, they have been an invaluable asset for my Lightnings since, as I also do a lot of my own work. You may be able to find a used set, or a pirated copy of the CD.

Thanks i will check that out. i need some kind of manual or i am gonna be lost pretty quick when i start doing my own mods. I dont know if i am too cautious but i like to know how and why things work like they do before i start changing them. I also have a problem with someone else working on my truck when i dont know what they are doing. I would atleast like to have some idea. I like to turn the wrenches unless its way over my head. Ok Sean talk to u next week have a good trip.
