Lightbulb Help With Fast Idle Problem!!!!

I was out today in my L and on the way home I noticed that I was going about 55mph and keeping that pace for quite a while without giving my truck any gas at all. When I got home I noticed that my truck is now idling at 1,600 rpm's in park and in neutral when it used to be just over 1,000 rpms. I checked out all the vaccum lines and my BABolt TB and everything seems to be fine. Any ideas on how to correct this fast idle problem?

Check your IAC valve, see if maybe it's stuck open or something?

Checked the Throttle spring seems to be fine. I might put on a new just to see though. Any other thoughts?

I had the same symptoms for awhile on mine. Do you hear any pfffft pfffft sounds in the cab? Sounds like a vacuum leak? If so, I would replace the T/B gasket. Took care of my idle problems.

Good luck

Is it me or does 1000 rpm idle seem high....Mine is about 600 stock and 700 Diablo induced. maybe the temp sensor is keeping it at high idle.

I would disconnect the throttle cable(s) and check for any binding in the th/body/plate area and then check the cable too for any binds or dragging. Make sure that the th/plate is closing against the th/stop.

If all that checks out, check your 'closed throttle' and 'WOT' voltages at the TPS.

I don't think this problem is with the IAC as he had throttle problems at 'cruise' rpms as well as at idle..................

Thanks for all your help guys I found out my problem. All that I had to do was unplug my IAC valve and plug it back up so that it would reset it's self. It now idles perfect. Strange if you ask me but it worked.
