exhaust on both sides

Has anyone customed there exhaust to go on both sides of the truck?

In other words, routing the exhaust

above the driveshaft,

around the far end of the fuel tank

and back up to the drivers side?

Anyone see any potential problems with this idea or have abetter idea?

I really want to go dual tips on both sides.

Jared

Stan removed his stock fuel tank so it would work.

I did it to mine.It is in 3 inch with a true x cross over pipe and stainless JDM headers. The problem that you will have is the fuel tank you can bend the pipe to go under the tank but it will decrease gnd clearance and well as being VERY unsafe.

Here is a pic of the driver side and you can see the cell and where it is located to do the exhaust on both sides but I did not do the cell for the exhaust I did the cell because of rules and the exhaust was then just a natural to run on both sides.Stan

PS the exhaust now uses a oval 5 inch pipe on each side verse the supertrap.

fuel tank?

As you can see I am running a cell[NASCAR spec very $$$}Which is rite infront of my plate[says ATL].The only other option would be to cut your tank down and run the exhaust after it.Stan

Why not just mount the tank in the bed out of sight?

Sweet truck man!

If you mount the tank in the bed you will just make the body roll much much worse.

Correct.Since I road race I need to get the weight as low as possible.Would much rather had it mounted in front of the rear tires [law of ineria] but the cell was $$ enough and to have one custom fabed that met the specs that I have to meet would of cost over 2500 bucks so I went the cheap way out.And am willing to sacrifice the weight and ineria problem.Oh and the weight dist front to rear now is 53% ft and 47% back and that is with only 8 gal of fuel and the cell holds 32.Stan

Can you have exhaust problems if you have one exhaust tube alot longer then the other side?
any issues with back pressure, etc.?
