Lightbulb Truck Conked Out!

Can anyone help me out to what may be the cause, here is what happened:

Driving home and start hearing the exhaust sound a little "deeper" than usual so i hit gas a little harder to hear it again and does the same thing. Then power steering gets harder...A/C turns off (obviously engine conked) so I pulled over and turned off and restarted then it seemed fine. Then i drove around a little but it still seems a little off.

Any help? I have NO mods...

1st thing I would do is reset the computer and then change the fuel filter if you haven't done this recently and see if this takes care of your problem. I would also add some Chevron Techron fuel injector cleaner to a tank of gas (follow the directions). You may have just picked up some bad fuel. How long has it been since you had a tune-up? Good luck.

Your L was deprived of either air, fuel, or ignition--or a combo of them???

Basic checks would be:

1. Fresh, clean fuel in the tank? I note you are in the Carribean--may get water in the in-ground fuel tanks????

2. Air filter clogged?

3. Change your fuel filter--a year's age and questionable fuel could cause clogging even with low miles that I suspect your L has?

4. PCM not functioning properly?

I'm at work and don't have my repair manual here so that's all I can come up with right now.

Thanks! I'll check those out. Gas here is inground but usually pretty good quality. I have just under 5k miles. If you can think of anything else I greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Haynes manual(97-99 regular F150s but basic troubleshooting should be applicable)

Engine Stalls:

1. Idle speed incorrect
2. Fuel filter clogged and/or water and imprurities in the fuel system
3. Emissions system components faulty
4. Faulty or incorrectly gapped spark plugs
5. Vacuum leak at the intake manifold or vacuum hoses
6. Fuel injection or eng. control systems malfunction
