Who is making the most power on a stock block/bottom end?

I have just finished doing a little work and was wondering how much power the stock block, especially rods, can handle

Also, let's say I was making 450hp with a 4#, vs 450hp with a 6#, would that make a difference or is it all about the hp?

It's all about the hp.........doesn't matter if you make it using a 2# or an 18# pulley.

JJ and JLP are throwing out some fast ET's with the stock block. JJ is his Lightning and JLP in their Harley truck.

Cool!

How hard do you drive your truck and do you put a lot of miles on it?

svt360, I heard about 500-525 also. So, at the rear wheels, assuming 12% loss, that would be about 450...which means the limits are being tested.

466/605 on California gas? That's impressive.

RedBolt99

I believe that is his name on this board, is making 495 SAE RWHP on on Danny Swansons dynojet. I dont remember the torque. He has made several passes with that setup. I believe that this might be the most with a stock bottem end.

500 to 525 is at the rear wheels brother, depends though. the 99 and 00 motors seem to have better rods that will handle the 500 rear HP, but the 01+ motors have different rods and they seem to bust allot more with allot less power in cases.

I know of a guy with a 99 that did an 8# and sprayed a 150 shot on his stock block. Ran solid 11s. Now going with a built motor but when he did a leak cheak on his stock one, he found nothing wrong....
