I'm surprised no one has said "Yeah, but how much lumber can they haul" or "Yea but my truck can tow my boat!"

Definitely respectable cars and if I had another 30k for cars I'd consider one. If I didn't lose so much money selling my truck now, I'd seriously consider either an 03 Cobra or one of the new AWD terrors coming out (STi or EVO)....

12.5s

Here's some cool info I found on the EVOs... time slips and video of one running 12.5s with an $1400 Stage I upgrade. Pretty impressive.

EVO VIII

The website for the WRX STi...

WRX STi

Nothin like the roar of a blown V8, you can have those little mini-bike cars!

I agree... but a little whine of an EVO zooming by would be cool as well! Watch rally on Speed Channel, these cars are quick, nimble and cool. Whole different fun way of driving then a big muscle V8 vehicle. Both are equally fun to me...

In the new car and driver they test one against a suburu wrx or something like that and it is even faster than the evo. Too bad it is ugly as crap. Just goes to show light weight+turbo=fast.

later

Autoweek<<<< just had a write up on these two little cars,, the STi is quicker and rides better,, the Mitsu, handles better on pavement and got through a 490' slalom 1 mph faster than the Subaru,, they both have some kind of water injecters that spray on there intercoolers,, The autoweeks scales said 3263 lbs, each,,, the subaru is a 6 speed and the Mitsu 5, both are geared fairly low,, No word on top speed for either car Sti 0-60 >4.78 1/4 13.36 @100.2 Mitsu,, 0-60> 5.19> 1/4 > 14.01 @96 mph,,, If i didn't have to haul stuff and love Ford V-8's that Sti would do it for me,, But after only having driven Fords my whole life i'd have to move, or somethin,,,,,

yes they are respectable but $30k for anything rice related is not for me.If I was gonna spend 30K on a performance car it would be on a 03 COBRA which runs FASTER or a 2 year old vette .Something american,V8 and something which wont go from $30k-$0 as fast as it goes 0-60mph

Basically these ares are just later model eagle talons of the future ...........

How would a base model 03-04 Nissan 350Z (287hp/274lb.ft. twin cam 24valve 3.5L v6/6spd), fair against the STi and Evo? I think the Z can knock off 13.9-14.0 second 1/4's, and 0-60 is 5.4 seconds. Do any of you think the base model 350Z is a good buy, considering performance and looks for $27k??? It may be a hair slower than the aforementioned cars, but I've heard/read that the Z will out-accelerate, and out-maneuver a porshe boxster. But anyways, for the cost I think it's a pretty good investment.

A 1.2 60ft is definately internet BS. A modded one MAY do a 1.5ft, but beyond that RWD becomes an advantage. Regardless, it would be fun to drive on the street. I've heard the interior is extremely cheap though.
