? about magnet in tranny pan

I have a FTVB waiting to go in and just received my B&M tranny pan. I was wondering if the drain plug doubles as a magnet or if I need to swap the magnet from the stock pan before I tear this thing apart. Any help would be great (already looked in the search function but couldn't find it).

There is a magnet in the stock pan. It collects particulates but must be removed to clean. The factory plug is not magnetize, at least mine in the 01 was not. I put the magnet in the deeper 4x4 pan. it did have some metal on it at 22000 but not much.

If you switch to an aluminum pan, get a big honking flat washer and a tube of JB Weld, then JB Weld the washer to the pan around the drain plug and put the magnet on the washer. Don't weld the washer, if you ever want to clean it, it's a pain to do that way.
