motorcycle hauling

My friend just got her GSX 600 today and we're looking at ramps and fastening devices for me to haul around her bike (and both our bikes when the time comes )

I've seen pics of 1 dirtbike and a sport bike in the bed of an L but will 2 sport bikes fit? My suspension is completely stock.

What type of stuff do you guys use to fasten motorcycles in the beds of your Ls?

I don't know about 2 sport bikes but I haul around my VFR when I need to. I used pressure treated planks for ramps. 2"x12"x8' No problems yet.

I picked up a tie down strap from my local bike shop. The strap loops between the handlebars then goes to the anchor in the bed of the L.

buy a set of "canyon dancers" they can be found at any local motorcycle dealer and they wrap around the handle bars then get some type of tie down that connects the end of the canyon dancer to the anchors in the bottom of the bed....ive carried my bike cross the country with that setup and never had a problem...sorry but ive never tried to put 2 streetbikesback there and make sure you have a goodarched ramp....a large atv ramp is the easiest but if cash is tight you can get a thinner one for about 100 bucks that gets the job done good luck

Just wondering do you think a ATV would fit in the bed of our trucks. Like a Banshee or something that size 350-400-cc?

I worked in motorcycle parts and accessories, and I have owned about 10 motorcycles over the years. Buy a Canyon Dancer and a set of Ancra tie downs. It's the most expensive set-up, but it's well worth it. Ancras don't slip. They're only like $10 more than the generic one, and you won't regret it.

I'm also interested to know whether or not you can fit two sportbikes in the back. You will need an ancor in the middle, and don't forget to put rags between the tie-downs and the upper fairing if they rub.

Not what you were asking about but you may want to look into this

http://www.readyramp.com/

Certainly looks like a good product.

thats awsome your friend got a gixxer 600. What year did he get? When I got mine, i just brought a ramp and a bunch of tie downs. I rode it up, put the kick stand down, and used every tie down I could to keep it straight. When we were done, it wasnt going anywhere in the back of the L, even if we tried.
Here's a pic of my friends straping it down for me.

She got an 2003. She's getting a ramp already and we'll look at some more stuff to secure the bike I'm sure. That LA Chock unit looks pretty nice, along with the Canyon Dancers.

I have no clue what I'm getting. Need to save up the money before I cross that bridge.

I'm considering being a male *****. So if any of you guys know of any FEMALES that are between 18 and 35 that are cute and lonely and need "companionship," let a brother know.
