transmission promblem

Question transmission promblem

while drinvin home from the richmond race, today the truck
jump hard while in gear, it felt like some one hit me but know one did then i could hear a grinding sound, but that went away, truck never staled or died but it felt like i was towing a bout behind it after gettin off interstate and on to the main roads i stoped at a stop light, and at normal take off the truck took the rpms all the 3500 to shift out of first then i drove it around my house and it was getting worst. please someone help me out. the truck is a 2001 with 28900 miles on it, i do have all the warrites left on it, please help me out.

Ues your free(insurance coverage?) towing and have a roll-back take it to your dealer. I'm afraid it's 'toast'?

Look at the ID tag on the tranny, it will say either 1J or 5X, if it's a 1J I'd say the mechanincal diode grenaded.

my truck is doing the same exact thing not wanting to shift from 1st to 2nd unless you let off the throttle.........any ideas?????????
