Siphoning gas from tank.

Has anyone ever tried to siphon gas from the tank on their Lightning.Like a dumb@ss I filled it up and now I want to go
to the track, which will take about 1/4 of the tank to get there,
but I like to run with a 1/4 in the truck.
Are there any obstacles that would keep me from using the "Texas Credit Card" method, (5 gallon can and hose)
of getting some of the fuel out?

Your right 01 Black bolt.
Gotta watch saying things like " your working too hard at Ford"
on this sight. Too many who hang here think we are all spies for the company.
I guess they don't know me too well.

We had a big snow storm. My tractor was out of gas. Unable to get to gas station due to snow. I tried and tried to siphon gas from the Lightning. I had a very long piece of 3/8 fuel hose. No go.

I think you may be out of luck. When I totalled my '00 F250 (after recently filling it up), I tried to siphon the gas out of it. There appeared to be some sort of anti-siphon device well down into the filler tube, and I couldn't get past it to get to the tank itself. At the time - of course it irritated me, but I sure do feel better knowing that I don't have to worry about someone helping themself to my gas now.

Confirming the Anti-Siphon blocker <grin>

Just drive around REAL FAST for 4 hours ... <grin>

Lately I have been only putting 10.00 in at a time
so I would have room for Rocket Fuel ...

Thanks for the responses.

SVT-KY ---I grin everytime I get in it. I too usually only put about
8-10 gals in it when I buy fuel, but I was going to go
to a car show that is about 75 miles away this week
end and went ahead and filled it. Decided to race now
as the weather is going to be in the 50's. Gotta love
Spring time in Ohio. Yesterday it was 82.
Oh well, I can still run with 3/4 of a tank.

sounds crazy but just open up your shrader valve and attach a hose to it and pump out the fuel. I've done it plenty of times and it works like a chram for me.

Plus you don't have to suck on anything that even closely resembles male organs.
