Dont worry Lightnings are rated a smidge higher than a regular F150. 400 every 6 here. 32 yrs old in a mid range place in my city to insure it..

It is probably the cheapest new vehicle to insure for the amt of hp and performance.

Trust me I know..I am an agent..

GET ONE!!!

When I got mine two years ago (I was 18), it came down to the Lightning of a brand new Nissan Maxima. We called about insurance, and it was cheaper to insure the Lightning. We use AAA and they consider it a 2 wheel drive V8 F-150, plain and simple.
So, hoop there it is.

I have a 92 Saleen Conv Mustang, 98 Taurus SHO and the 2000 Lightning all with full coverage and I pay 130 a month a that is with the 5.00 charge for not paying the prem in full each month. Allstate. I think it does have to do with where you live. Allstate does only show my truck as a V-8 F-150. They didn't show a listing for a Lightning.

$995 CDN (about $700 US) per year for full coverage-
-$2M Liability
-Collision w/ $500 ded.
-Comprehensive, Fire and Theft, Loss of Use, etc.

36 years old, no accidents and no tickets in 8 years.

Because the premium is so low, I assume they have it insured as a regular F-150. I made sure the actual policy reads 'F-150 LIGHTNING'. I don't want any insurance company BS in the event I make claim- "You didn't tell us it was a Lightning..."
