2"/3" drop: Recommendations

I'm looking for a 2" front/3" rear drop for my 99 Lightning. What have you had the best luck with, and what do you recommend? I know 3" rear shackles, but what about the front? Also, has it cut down on your towing capabilities? I use my truck to haul my car to the track. On stock suspension, I noticed the rear of my truck was sagging quite a bit. Will it get worse?

KJ94GT;

You can search for info on it but best in my book is Belltech
2 " coils in front and their 4 " rear perches on rear with stock
shackles! Then the bed rails (top of bed) will sit paralel to ground. There are many combo's on this that you can do. I also
run Belltech Nitro Active Drop shocks with their short bump stop.
Only big bumps might you hit them once in awhile. Look around
then deside what you want.

KJ94GT;

They mount front of rear leaf springs to frame. You cut off OEM
rivets and bolt new ones in same holes.

So the new perches actually raise the leaf spring's front mounting point?

I have a 2/3 drop, but I don't tow anything.
I got the Western Chassis 2" Drop A-arms up front and
shackles/hangers in the back. Front drives really nice and smooth, the
back is rough and stiff as hell.

I would think if you want to tow and drop the back 3", you might
need to install a C-Notch.

KJ94GT;

How about lowers frame at front of spring. Yes it raises front
of spring.

So, if you swap perches, you don't need the aftermarket shackles? Any idea what the perches cost, and who's the best to buy from?

KJ94GT;

Thats the way I did my drop. The rear shackles made it to
low so reinstalled OEM's and it was just right, level to ground.
Look at some adds in truck mag's an make a few calls. I used
Belltech. There are others. Don't know cost now. Did mine
in June of " 99 ".

I don't think the 99 L's need that much of a drop but the 03 could definetly use it

You can get new hangers for under $100. Yes, they raise the mounting point of the spring which in effect lowers the truck.
