Ordered the Hellwig anti sway bars.

From Summit price was $288.63 with shipping for front and rear. For a lowered truck the Hellwig guy told me to order:
front 7646
rear 7856

That is about half the price of the Hotchkis. I will report back on how well they work.....or don't work.

According to Tim Skelton, the Helwig bars are no thicker than stock. I would like to know if that is true, because they are alot less expensive than Hotchkis.

Keep us informed!!!
I love hearing all the stuff you've done because I want to mod in the direction you're going (roush, e-fan, sways etc..)

Let me know how well (or not so well) they work!

I too would like to know if they are thicker and how much they weigh compared to our stockers.

The Hotchkis are waaaaay too expensive for my budget right now but I've heard pretty good things about them.

looks like they are 1-7/16" thick for the front and 1-1/8" thick for the rear

the stock front bar is 1-1/5, i don't know the back though. so its an increase of .237. hotchkis is 1-1/2 so its just a little bigger then hellwigs kit by only .076

I'm sick of paying the high prices for L parts. I bought a track bar that fits a chevy truck for $129.00 to keep from buying a $450.00 panhard bar that is made for the L. I will see if I can make it fit this weekend. If not then I'm going to buy this
http://www.deucefactory.com/3385.html

I know this one will work and I will sell the track bar to a Chevy owner. $89.00 and a little welding and it will work as well (probably better) that the $450.00 panhard bar.

Hell I don't know where I got $455.00 from. I still don't like the short kind.

Actually, I did not say that. Here is what I did say:

"For anti-sway bars, Hotchkis is the only game in town--other companies like Belltech and Hellwig make F150 sway bars, but they do not appear to be stiffer than the stock bars. The Hotchkis rear bar is only marginally thicker than stock (1" versus .9"). The front, however, is 1.5" and hollow, versus the stock 1.2" solid bar. Note, however, that the stiffness of the bar is proportional to the diameter of the bar raised to the 4th power, so a small increase in diameter yields a large increase in stiffness. See the images below."

So, to recap, I said that it appears that the Helwig bar are no stiffer than the stock Lightning bars, not that I know for a fact that they are not larger.

Here is a reply I made on NLOC.

I have the Hellwig bars. They are VERY heavy and they look like ***** but they made my truck feel like a different Vehicle! When I did the slalom course at the driving school the truck stayed flat as hell. Adding these bars made more difference in how the truck handled than any one other thing I did. That includes the full Roush kit and the panhard bar. The guy at Hellwig was very helpful and of course he say's what makes their bars so great is the type of material they use and the heat treating they do. I'm telling you for the money I'm as happy as a pig in *****! What the hell do you care what they look like? The only down side I see is they ARE HEAVY! I don't know anything about the Hotchkiss except they are light, look good (who cares) and cost way to much for what they are. But that's just my opinion. I spend a lot of money on my truck but I try to spend wisely. That's why I have the TCE big brake kit instead of one of the others. The TCE kit may not be the best but I feel it's the best for the money.....same with the Hellwig bars.

Tim,
The Hellwig bars are MUCH larger than the stock bars......at least what they sold me was. They are at least half again larger than the stock one's. How large they are is not the only thing to consider though. Heat treating will change the stiffness of the material!
