Seem to be getting different info from multiple source.

Also need the part number if anyone would be so kind!

Weird thing happened with my truck, the alternator started working again once the new battery was installed.

Just ordered my Alternator from Mralternator, 200amp powdercoated Chrome, should be in next week. Will post pics of it when it comes. The alternator's this guys sells are stock Ford parts he then modifies with better electronics. He also warranties his alternators for life and ask for no stupid core charge.

So for $25 over the stock 130amp Ford Alternator I got a 200amp, lifetime warrantied, powdercoated Chrome (Pulley also powdercoated chrome) SWEET alternator.

Here's a question...If the factory one is 130, then what's involved in changing to a 200? Or is it just plug it in and forget about it?

Does anyone know the rating of the factory L alt?

Do you happen to know if the L alt is different in shape from the regualr alt on a regular 5.4L F-150? Thanks guys.

The stock L alternator is slimmer in dimension then the standard f-150 alternator cause of the the blower.

Don't know about amp rating. I would kinda like to know as well cause I installed REM's electric fan setup and when the fans come on you can hear the engine slow down for a second while the alternator really kicks in. Was thinking that a higher amp rated alternator could help with this?

With my stereo setup, I'm definately going to need one of those. Can you give me some more info about MrAlternator- website? telphone number? part no.? contact?

Thanks. I would imagine I would get the same unit you purchased.

My 200amp alternator has been working great. Hate the powercoated chome look, so have decided to polish my 130 casing that took a crap on me.

I would suggest if you gonna get a powdercoated alternator, get a gloss black one.

Since some of you guys seem like you have done it, I guess it's safe to assume that swapping from the factory 130 amp to a 200 amp is no big deal? Just plug it in and go? No other mods needed?

Did anyone ever say wether or not the L comes from the factory with a 200? Probably a 130 like all the others hu? Thanks guys.

You have to remember a 200amp alternator does'nt always put out 200amps.
It's good to have a 200amp alternator for things like your electric fan kicking on or your stereo system hitting low bass notes.

The only people that would have a problem with a 200amp alt, are the stereo guys with a few subs in the ride. They will have to run heavier gauge wire from the alternator to the battery.

Give Mralternator a call... he will tell you what you need to know.

The problem I had was my electric fan wire harness was not rated to even handle the 130amp stock alternator and eventially melted parts of the harness.
