Easiest way to replace thermostat?

I am going to replace my thermostat tonight with a 160. Are there any tricks or anything I should be aware of before I do it?

took me 5 min, just uses two bolts that holds the housing, and a couple for that bracket on top

Wait! Before you unbolt the housing, get a hose and attach it to the drain nipple and drain about 1.5-2 gals of coolant out into a clean container. You won't spill any on to the plugs that way. Just pour it back into the reservoir when you've put the new 'stat in.

Btw, note where the O-ring is when you remove it. It goes back on the top of the 'stat so the housing can seal the opening.

It was easy. I just moved the bracket slightly and yes, it did spill about 1/2 gallon of antifreeze. I just flushed the engine well and added more to the resevoir. Now I will have to wait and see if it runs any better at the track this weekend.
