Is this a good price for an '03?

29600.00 This is through Autonation in Seattle. I want to dump the Taurus (long story). BTW what is a good interest rate these days. I've always financed through Ford so I am not sure what the rate is. Thanks.

Excelent price. I'd take it. (I did) Sounds close to X-Plan

I think the ford interest rates are around 2-4 for SVT's. Although around ATL I've heard some banks are wanting to get into the new vehical market and so are offering competing low rates <2%. Check that out.

Okay this is why I hate dealing. Price of truck is 30K, still pretty good, but they came up with this BS price for the trade and 7.9% interest through Ford. It looks like I'm going to be driving a Taurus for a little while longer. BTW does anyone know of any banks doing a good rate?

Try peoplefirst . I refinanced my Vette through them and got a great rate. I also had approval in 10 minutes after I submitted my application online.

Thanks for the advice gentlemen. As usual the dealer did not call me back yesterday after I told them the deal was not good enough. This dealer BS is the reason I am driving "regular" Fords. When I bought the Expy it was completed in 45mins from the time I walked in to the time I drove out.

I'll see what happens today though. This is what the salesman told me:
I know of a Black, White, Liq Grey, Sonic Blue, & silver in-stock. Plus
I traded in my 2001 Silver Lightning that has 21k miles, every option.
I lowered it, put a chrome grill, 2000 chrome rims, k& N filter, Rubber
bed mat (waxed the bed) took very good care of it and Loved it's power.
Now I have a 2003 Cobra Convertible. The Lightning I traded will have a
list price of 26,991. Well worth the look.

If anyone has any better options for the Seattle area let me know. Thanks

go to a local bank or credit union and secure the financing before you discuss the vehicle with the dealership. That way they cannot manupulate the intrest rate to make more money. You should be able to get +/- 5% loan. Buy the truck then sell your taurus or visa versa. Dont give a dealership any latitude. Cash price only.

It looks like People First has a rate of 4.39%. I am paying 5.6% on the POS Taurus now. I would love to sell the car privately but no one wants a used Taurus, even if it does have the 24V engine.

sounds good to me...

I was quoted a price at 31,853.28 (roughly, ON THE ROAD... with bedcover and liner) for an '03. After seeing all this makes me think that the price I was given is a little high. What do you guys think?

thats a sweet price, snag it while you can and watch out for "added or unexpected" costs..

Never just ask for the price of the truck.. One thing I learned from shopping for bikes was always ask OTD price(out the door)..

Price is a regional/dealership thing also. A friend of mine knows one of the main SVT sellsman here in town, and he's been told he *could* get under X on a 03... They also have a few left over 02's, but he could get an 03 cheaper then a leftover 02...

the 31,853 I talked about in my earlier DID include tax and tags. So that would be good then?

Drew

forgot to mention that that is also under XPlan as well...
