New lightning owner - Belltech 2" drop question

I was finally able to talk my wife into letting me buy a Lightning! After two years of explaining why it made sense, she finally gave in (there may have been some begging and pleading involved).

On to my question - I plan on ordering the Belltech 2" drop shackle kit to get the back end to sit down a little bit. On the Summit Racing website they also suggested a Belltech pinion shim kit. Is the shim kit necessary? Does the shackle kit mess up the rear end alignment or lead to any abnormal tire wear?

Thanks.

You don't need any shims for a shackle drop.

Your 03 already has 2 degree shims from the factory. Install those new shackles and enjoy.

2 inches is NOT going to cut it on an 03.You NEED JLP 3 inch shackles to even make it look like a 99-02 with a 2 inch drop. That will get you CLOSE to level.4 inchers might be better or they might be a touch too low.Either way 2 inches is not going to cut it.
