Looking for a broken Lightning factory supercharger

If anyone has a broken magnacharger or takeoff unit from their truck I would be interested in getting one. I am currently in the process of attempting to mate the Lightning M112 Magnacharger and upper intake to the Impala SS/LT1. It seems that these superchargers would be a good low priced roots S/C for our cars if I can modify the intake manifold and make a pulley setup for this to work. After reading this morning it also appears that a ready made upgrade path exists via the Blowzilla KB supercharger.

Let me know,
Mike

Magnacharger is a brand name of supercharger

Edit: http://www.magnusonproducts.com/aboutus.htm

The Gen 2 lightnings dont have Magnachargers

You might ask in the Gen 1 lightning section on NLOC.net about Magnachargers or in the Supercharger turbo charger section here

Cool

The magna charger kit they used to produce, had an M90, not an M112, unless you are talking about their corvette kit which has a 112 but has all sorts of other things wrong with it for a Lightning.

Anyway this does not belong in the L forum so

My research shows the Eaton MP112 is the factory supercharger on the Lightning. I'm just looking to see if anyone has a takeoff or broken one that's all.

I shouldn't have called it a Magnacharger but an Eaton instead (Magnacharger is the aftermarket company for Eaton), sorry for the confusion.

I found them for $700.00 rebuilt with 1 year warranty but it doesn't seem prudent to spend that if I find out this isn't a viable option.

Hope you guys can help,
Mike

I have a broken rear entry magnuson 122, but don't have the snout. If you can get a snout I have the case and the rotor packs.

Don is the rear entry physically the same as the Lightning S/C as far as case dimensions etc?

Let me know,
Mike

I cant answer that but I do know that fastbolt2002 knows quite a bit about taking it in the rear. Maybe he will chime in.....

The length is about the same, it isn't quite as tall, and you can make a adaptor to bolt to your intake.

I still have the silver one minus the snout, the black one has been sold.

Magnuson may have a kit allready for the 350 chevy.

I'd love to take you up on it but I plan on using not only the Lightning's Eaton S/C but also the top intake portion as well. I plan on adapting a Chevy TB to the intake tract.

The Lightning S/C does say Eaton on it and Magnuson only sells Eatons so they are the same. The actual blower is an Eaton MP112 with top inlet but it is available in various configurations including a new one for the LS1.

Not quite. Magnuson SERVICES Eaton superchargers, they do not sell them. Eaton does not make generic blowers that the public can buy. All Eaton blowers are case specific, for a certian vehicle. Magnuson makes their own cases and nose drives, and uses Eaton- built rotor packs. A Magnuson MP112 is not the same thing as the Eaton M112 used on the Lightining. The Eaton M112 is a top inlet casing, with cast in bolt pattern for the Lightning's lower intake. The Magnuson MP112 is a Magnuson case, rear inlet, with a universal bolt pattern that allows it to bolt to whatever you need using an adapter plate.

OK, I stand corrected.

Let me restate:

I need a supercharger that comes on the Lightning from the factory for this project.

Thx
Mike
