My first experience with a Clar Bar!

I have a 2002 L and I am pretty much a fanatic about keeping it clean. I have been using Zaino since I got it. It had developed little black specs ontop of the paint finish which made it feel rough. I think this was due to alot of road contruction in the area. It was tar and just other contamination. I had heard lots of people talk about the clay bar but I had never seen or used one. I picked up a Mothers Clay Bar and used it on my truck this wk-end. The results were awesome!! I got my finish so smooth again and to top it all off, I put 2 coats of Zaino Z2 polish on after I was done. OMG, you would not believe the shine and smoothness of the paint now. I would just like to recomend the clay bar to anyone who is experencing the same problem because it really works.

BTW, Zaino is the best too, My dad is a big time Mequiars fan, and after he felt of my truck he said 'wow, I have never felt anything like this'. He was amazed!

I would say it took 1-2 hours to clay bar the whole truck. Then I put on 2 coats of Zaino after that. It was pretty much an all day job.

Although it's pretty smooth after my last wax job...I'm still curious as to the results of claybaring

(yea I'm a nut who has nothing better to do)...

After waxing and polishing my paint surface is smooth, yet I can still see a few tiny black spots on the hood. I guess I need to clay bar it to get them out?

I used rubbing alcohol to take off some pine sap on my truck last year. now it looks like some of the finnish came off. What do you suggest to get rid of those spots?
