Modded 4 Bangers

How does an L (chip, pulley, filter) do against semi modded(no nos) 4 banger foriegn cars. Seems like all I see around here is foriegn cars, especially at college. (Mostley Civics, Integras, Accords, some Celicas). I still have stock everything(mods soon thanks to input from this forum ), but I was just wondering if I can back up WOTing past a foriegn car, or if I will get imbarrased.

Thats a very broad range of mods and cars. Most civics accords and integras and RSX's whatever with bolt on's have no chance. With nitrous they might have a better chance, stripped interior then they might have a shot at ya. Civic HB's with motor-swaps and stripped interiors can run low 13's with no nitrous or turbos so thats something to look out for. On the street though they cant launch like we can so I wouldn't worry about it.

I wouldn't say to go call all of them out, but don't worry about them. Most of my buddies are import guys and I can take all but 3 of them stock and now with my mods I am hoping the catch them which I should have. But yea with chip filter pulley go get you some.

I know what you mean about imports at college. Purdue was a LOT of them. However, there are some respectable WRXs here and I even spotted a gray EVO yesterday!

Most of the times, the fart cans and "CAIs" shouldn't give you any worries. But every now and then, you'll find a "correctly-modded" import that will prove your assumptions wrong. And usually they won't be the ones sporting double-decker wings and street-sweeper bodykits.

Happy hunting

Exactly, it could look like this........

But with this.........
B18B not stock, 9:1
T3/60-1
STR intake manifold
850cc RC's
AEM fuel components & cam gears
RevHard exhaust manifold
Autologic 3.0" a/c compatible dump tube with 1-7/8" pipe hooked to stock exhaust system
Quicktime 3.0" electronic cutout
yada yada yada
The setup makes about 430hp@20psi. Full interior, a/c, MP3 player, etc. ITR floormats!!!

It can do this..........

crap you beat me to it. I was gonna post that one. I WANT that civic. Its pretty pimp. Im sure it must make more HP then 430. That seems a little low for mid 10's. Wonder how much it weighs

Yeah, that civic is quick, but it represents about .00001% of all of 'em out there, so I wouldn't worry too much about that. What you got to worry about are the boosted eclipses, talons and old lasors AKA "DSM" cars. Those things can be quick for dirt cheap too, because they are boosted from the factory and have a pretty strong motor, and they come with AWD.

I've got a couple friends that have gone mid-high 11s looking 90% stock right down the the exhaust tip. One did it on the juice, the other on 26 psi of boost.

I was looking at a honda forum and people there seem to be happy with 13.8s-14.3s after mods (some as high as mid 15s and some WITH nos) A few heavily modded were in the low 13s and high 12s. So the L should hold up just fine.
