why do you want one? theres hardly any that are truly functional and there are no hoods available lighter than stock.

hehe. i guess your right. this guy has been asking about parts like crazy. i recommend a shaker if you want something different and actually works. like the one on Blown93's pics. only my oppinion. but personaly, i would rather wait until someone makes an affordable carbon fiber hood.

I got my L and now I can't wait to add something to it, but Im a newbie when it comes to "fast" cars. I'm just shooting around ideas about what I can to do it. BTW, I just liked the hood looked b/c not everyone has one. Thanks for input....

Nate, this isnt a flame, but what would you consider to be an afforable price for a cf hood? Hoods from cervinis run a little over $400 right? That doesnt include shipping, or prep/paint. And how many cf hoods do you see on lightnings, I have only seen 4 total in person or online. Whereas cervinis hoods are much more common...just wondering what reasonable would be.

hehe. Thats why i said wait until someone really starts making alot of them. Thats why i had a smilie . Resonable price would be the price where I would buy one.

no offense taken

To each their own. If you like it that way then do it. I remember when i first came to this board and they said wait awhile before you start modding, besides get the chip, filer, and pulley. best advice i have heard. my plans for my truck have changed about 5 times since i had it, along the more reasonable side.

Everyone and their mom has a shaker. Same with Cervinis. If you want a custom look, you'll have to find other ways of doing it...unless you can convince someone to do a one-off or find the ugliest hood possible that no one else in their right mind would buy. However, if you just want a nice-looking hood, go with what you want. Weight doesn't really matter that much among the aftermarket hoods since they're all around the same weight. It's always about give and take (ie most 20s+ wheels are more weight but even some 11 second trucks run them...)

For me, I'll probably get the Pro-Glass cowl hood. No one seems to be sporting them so...

(but i'm sure with my luck, by the time I save up enough money they'll be standard on all trucks from f150online and nloc... )

On the boards maybe. 99% of the time I am the only truck with a Shaker hood wherever I go and I get tons of compliments.

It is not a cheap hood so everybody does not have one.

But I am thinking about buying my mom one for her birthday.

True. However, even Cervini's and any of the other aftermarket hoods are rare on our trucks. I've actually yet to see an aftermarket hood from a non-board person's truck!

And you are right, they are not cheap. I like 'em a lot and every time I see Blown93's sig I consider getting one.

For now I'll stick with my stocker. Almost 1000 bucks total for a hood is not cheap, and right now looks is still not my priority.

I know I have posted this before, but my carbon fiber hood was $800 delivered. And it took me and my buddy about 45 min to install.
