Question Cheapest Price On 4.10 Gears

Lookin' into buying some. These 3.55's are killing me with these 28 x 14.50 x 16 QTP's.

Cool

Thanks for the reply Mark. You've got one of the best prices since I've been looking. Great service on past purchases, too.

Can anybody else beat that.

Nice sig. Fog lights are a little yellow/brown, LOL. Hey, you going to the track next week? I have this green mustang that runs up and down my street, with his supercharger overspun like you would not believe(whines at idle speeds), and he is always looking the truck over. My neighbor says he has seen him run a best 13.7? and I want to put him in his place with my STOCK TRUCK!! I've got 800 miles on the OD now and I am itching to run it!!

4:10s for Chuck?? Awesome.

Cory,
How in the HE## did you get 800 miles on your OD? You only have a 1.5 mile drive round trip to work. Oh well it will be nice to see what yours will run stock before you beef it up.

Got mine at drive train direct for about 200 bucks, but it doesn't come with hardware, you will need a new pinion bearing and crush sleeve I reused my stock shim.

Chuck,
I thought you would be going with the 3.73's. Wouldn't those 4.10's be terrible on gas mileage for daily driving? You'd be able to get a hellaceous 60' with that set-up though.

Cool

Jimmy,

I'm only getting about 12.5 mpg now. I don't know if it can get much worse.

Cory,

The fog lights are nice and clear (for that style anyway). It's an optical illusion caused by the shadows.

I don't know about the track yet. My truck has been in the shop since last Thursday getting the passenger side oil leak fixed with the new style head gasket. Naturally since I'm getting an After Warranty Adjustment (I pay 20%) it needs a new head. The back corner where it was leaking was .003 from being flat. The tolerance is .001 (what is that about an RCH). Those are rediculous tolerances to be met. My cost went from about $200 to $400. I quess it could be worse if I had to pay the whole $1900. I just hope I get it back with everything working and looking right. No dents or scratches would be appreciated. They don't pull the motor. They said their SVT tech was a small guy that crawls into the engine bay. That could be good or bad. I'll know either way Tuesday. I'd like to know how the head was out of whack on an engine that has never been overheated. I didn't have much extra boost when it started leaking at 18,000 - 20,000 miles.

Damon,

Thanks for the tip on the AWA. It saved me a bundle.

The cheapest place that I found to purchase a set of 4.10's was Reider Racing. Those guys knows there stuff. Plus there installation kit comes with the pinion bearing's which you will need.

Cool 4:10 gears and install kit

Our kits are complete. We even pack you a new pinion nut, new pinion bearing, new pinion seal, new crush sleeve, 4 oz bottle of Ford friction modifier additive and fluid.
You add labor
In stock. Can ship anytime.
4:10's are great for strip or street. My gas mileage is still around 14 before and after install. Change was almost unmeasureable. RPM change at cruising speed not even 200. Great for off the line.
And scooting around town
You will lov'em. One of the first mods on my 00 after chip and cool air kit.

Well if that's the case then Mark is cheaper than any vendor I have seen. I was under the impression that his install kits were minus the bearing's.

I also agree that the 4.10's are a blast on the street. The rpm change is exactly 320 rpm's higher in O/D than my 3.55's. To be perfectly honest in O/D I really can't even tell they are there. But from a dead stop there is no doubt you're running 4.10's. My L seems to just fly through 1st and 2nd gear. It pulls like never before. It almost feels like I am running the nitrous full time now. It seems like it's always right in the meat of the power band. And if you couldn't tell I love my 4.10's!! Should have came from the factory with them just like the Gen1's!!!
