tranny problem

I put in 1/2 quart to much. after driving it for about 20min. checked it again with enigine running and the fluid is about 1/4 of an inch above the hot full mark. is this okay or should i drop the pan again? it seems to be shifting okay.

Thumbs up

you don't want to over fill it. siphon some out with some clear aquarium (tygon) tubing. just shove it down the dipstick fill tube, and suck, or something

CAUTION: Do not overfill the transmission. Too much fluid can cause the fluid to foam, which in turn can lead to erratic shifting, oil starvation and transmission damage. Too much fluid may also force ATF to leak past the transmission seals.

Get one of these: http://www.prismenterprise.com/mityvacauto/kits.html

at an auto parts store and 'pull' the extra fluid out of the fill tube. Get the cheaper one without the pressure gauge.
