squeaky rear springs
squeaky rear springs
has anyone else's truck start creaking/squeaking from the rear? i noticed this a few weeks ago, but originally thought it was the ebrake grabbing hold when i parked. after hearing the creak again while driving in the parking lot, it obviously had to be something else.
i got under the truck while a buddy bounced the back end of the truck and traced the sound to the left rear spring. being the motivated mechanic i am, i dropped it off at the dealer today. after they examined it, they stated that the spring was the source (not the bushing or the mount), they told me they were going to replace both rear springs and ordered the parts.
i hate sqeaks and creaks and this truck has been solid. just curious if this is a common problem or not. i havent read much about others with similiar problems.

i have a little squeek that sounds like it comes from the right side under the bed, like maybe one of the rubber bushing things is squeeky. i cant here it when then slider is closed so it doesnt really bother me that much.
i heard a creak too when the slider was opened.. that really did bother me much, mostly over speed bumps.. but this one keeps gettin worse. the truck sounds like an ol f100 or somethin
I had the same problem several months ago--could only hear it when in the cab with the slider open. Thought it was the springs, but turned out to be in the tailgate. Check the latching mechanism on both sides. Little lubrication stopped it immediately...
